What is priorITy?

PriorITy is an annual conference with the specific Krakow atmosphere. It focuses on project management in IT field.

Why was priorITy started?

Project management is dynamically evolving discipline, that lately is becoming more and more popular . However, the increased interest is not followed by the quality and quantity of publications or conferences about the issue, where practical knowledge could be discussed.

PriorITy organizers aim at filling the gap and creating an arena for sharing knowledge and experience, thus improving skills of polish IT project managers.

The indirect goal priorITy is to consolidate the community of project managers in Poland.

Why IT?

PriorITy is designed to meet the needs of people working with project management in IT area. This field was not chosen randomly. IT is a very specific discipline, where technical and engineering knowledge intertwines with the knowledge about proper productive process . The quantity of methods (extreme programming, scrum, cmmi) proves that. Due to its specific character, people who work of IT field must be open to new knowledge and willing to constantly search for better solutions for improving realizations process of the projects. That is the reason why IT project managers are the most aware of the fact that project management is a separate discipline and it requires specific skills. Thus, being the most experienced developer in the team is often not enough to successfully lead the project. All of those reasons make the IT project management community the largest and the most active one in Poland.

IT field is an excellent background for discussing general project management issues. The IT projects are the most complex, diverse and unique, which makes them so challenging. Moreover, with this projects the most supporting IT tools are used.

That is why the discussion about project managing in IT field can be the most fruitful.

What distinguishes priorITy?

Because sharing the practical knowledge is the pillar of priorITy, the organizers give attendees the chance to discuss their problems during panels and search for the best solutions of given problems in workgroups.

To share experience and to talk out the problems that has to be faced by project managers, the evening banquet will be held.

PriorITy focuses on the management issues, thus the technology or engineering affairs are being put aside and those aspects are just a background for the main discussion.
